ABOUT US

The Socialist Party of Cumbria was established in late 2003 in Carlisle by two elected Borough Councillors. They were suspended by New Labour for opposing drastic financial cutbacks in housing that were to affect the most vulnerable members of our community. This suspension was imposed without any right of appeal. Also suspended were some other 20 members! That is the form of justice within New Labour since the takeover of the TRUE Labour Party by a bunch of greedy capitalists like Tony Blair and Co. They have sold their souls to the Devil of Greed and Capitalism. The founders of the true Labour Party will be turning in their graves.

What we stand for:

We are a group of dedicated individuals standing for democracy, social/economic justice, regional autonomy for the County of Cumbria and world peace. Our allegiance is to you, the Celtic people of Cumbria; we have no affiliation with any other political party, financial institution or otherwise. We are unique in Cumbria.

We are BY THE CUMBRIAN PEOPLE, FOR THE CUMBRIAN PEOPLE.

We campaign for social and economic justice, and autonomy for Cumbria.

We seek justice for and help and support unemployed, pensioners and disabled.

We campaign for family issues, and our children's rights and future.

We demand community safety and a green environment in our county.

We fight for social and economic equality.
